At this time of crisis, live United means more than ever. United Way/Home For Good Santa Barbara County is on the frontlines of COVID-19 Response. Our Home For Good Santa Barbara County/AmeriCorps Partnership Street Outreach continues to meet people where they are and provide them with meals, critical public health information, hygiene kits, and non-perishable food.
For the duration of the crisis and beyond, we will -
* Create "community distribution plans" for unhoused people with ready-to-eat food, water, soap, and first aid supplies. The COVID-19 pandemic has shut down many food pantries and programs that provide life-saving meals and hygiene supplies to low-income and vulnerable populations. With the demand for these essential supplies at an all-time high, people need to be able to access food and supplies easily in their own neighborhoods.
* Work with all partners to access hotel/motel and other housing opportunities. There are thousands of vacant hotel rooms in Santa Barbara County. With the crisis, the workers who staff them are unemployed. We can take care of people who are especially vulnerable to the pandemic and get some of the hospitality workforce paid again.
Join us in raising funds for Home for Good Santa Barbara County COVID-19 Response Fund. Any contribution -- no matter how big or small, makes an impact.
Thank you for supporting our most vulnerable neighbors and supporting each other in this time of uncertainty.
